Year of Schnibbles-September

What is a Schnibble?

Schnibble: noun A scrap of fabric; a leftover bit of cloth; a small piece. The word has a German origin and is found primarily in German settlements in the Midwest.

Miss Rosie Makes Schnibbles....

This is my Schnibbles quilt. I used the GLACE line as pictured in the pattern. This is my first attempt at flying geese, and I am very proud of myself.

There are about 80 people, all doing the same project. You can pick your fabric, but everyone is doing the same pattern.

I don't know quite what I am going to do with it, it is cute, but is it functional? I am taking suggestions. It is about 34" by 34"

  1. I'm using mine as a Fall tabletopper. When the season changes I'll fold it up and display it in a pile of quilts. Your geese look terrific

  2. Your Schnibbles quilt turned out great! I am not sure what I am doing with mine either - it kind of fit nicely out on the backyard patio chair where I put it to take the photo...I think I will leave it there for now =)

  5. I know of what you speak! Until the Schnibs, I always made big quilts too. Lap-size, bed-size and so on. They do work beautifully for tables and walls, but they could also make a terrific center medallion for something a little bit bigger.

Good job and I look forward to seeing what you make with that Lila Teuller fabric ~ it's gorgeous!
